Are Funding for your clients in genuine hardship

Applications welcomed from representatives of community support groups

Does this sound familiar?

  • You’re working in the community services space, but there is no funding available for one of your current cases?

  • You’re working with a deserving person or family that needs a leg-up to keep moving forward?

  • You’re working with a person who is struggling financially, and they are having trouble keeping themselves and their family warm?

Wouldn’t it be good if there was a safety net?

  •  A fund of money for when the community coffers exclude people in great need because of seemingly arbitrary red tape.

  • A benevolent Trust set up by a man who just wanted to ensure that the people of Canterbury would be healthy and warm, even if they were suffering financial hardship.

  • A fund that was set up to be of service to Cantabrians for generations

But isn’t that just a dream?

The Hyman Marks Trust

Although the Hyman Marks Trust is a relatively small Trust with a limited income available for distribution, it fills a necessary gap. Since 1895, the Trust has had and continues to have, a considerable impact on the lives of many people in Canterbury.

The Trustees welcome all applications from appropriate professionals applying on behalf of their clients in need in the Canterbury area. We consider applications based on evidence of need and peoples efforts to address the situation. Applications must include a budget worksheet signed by a budget advisor. If this cant be done please supply evidence of need.

Charitable grants are available for those in need when their community support can confirm that all other funding options have been explored and exhausted, including Work and Income entitlements
